Bahuguna intervenes to bring back body of dead seaman
Dehradun, Jan 29 : Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna has expressed grief over the death of a seaman, a resident of Dehradun and taken up the issue with Air India and authorities at Port Blair to ensure that his body reach his family here at the earliest
According to reports here, Avnish Patwal had died recently while on duty on a private ship and his family was worried about getting his body back for last rites
SDO to Chief Minister Anand Bahuguna informed here today that Mr Bahuguna had spoken with the senior officers of Air India during his Delhi visit and the officers at Port Blair to dispatch the body at the earliest to Dehradun. He said the body would be brought to Delhi from Port Blair by air and then brought to Dehradun in a special ambulance
Chief Minister has also assured the family of late Patwal to provide all possible assistance from the state Government's side and prayed for peace to the departed soul
