Rs 880 cr for developmental work in Nashik: Ajit Pawar

Nashik, Jan 29 : The Maharashtra government has sanctioned Rs 880 crore for developmental works in five districts of Nashik division through District Planning Development Committee

Rs 250 crore were sanctioned for Nashik, Rs 220 crore for Jalgaon, Rs 255 crore for Ahmednagar, Rs 100 crore for Dhule and Rs 55 crore for Nandurbar, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pwar said during a DPDC meeting here yesterday

These funds were sanctioned to the districts as per their population, he added

Mr Pawar said the government has approved that 15 per cent fund would be spent on water scarcity in the districts as the water situation in the state was very serious

He said the state government would also take decision in the budget and provide funds for the forthcoming Kumbh Melas in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar

Among others who attended the meeting were PWD Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Tribal Development Minister Babanrao Pachpute, Sports and Youth Minister Padmakar Valvi, Horticulture Minister Vijaykumar Gavit, Transport and Dairy Development Minister Gulabrao Devkar.
