Enough stock of essentials available in Kashmir
Srinagar, Jan 29 : Enough stock of essentials, including rice, wheat flour, sugar and LPG cylinders are available in the Kashmir valley, where the home delivery of gas cylinders will be started from next month
Officials said here today for February, 7224 metric tonnes (MT) of wheat and 22,400 MT of rice are available at different godowns of Food Corporation of India (FCI)
They said 32,527 MT of rice had been distributed in valley while as 6,729 MT of rice have been lifted in advance by Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA and PD) department from FCI
About 2,841 MT of sugar had been distributed and 2,130 MT of sugar were lying with FCI
Kashmir Divisional Commissioner Asgar Samoon has directed CA and PD authorities to divert 49 unlifted kerosene oil tankers to the deficit areas under close supervision of Deputy Commissioners concerned
Officials said that Dr Samoon has directed them to implement the order of home delivery of LPG cylinders in urban areas by February this year while that in rural areas from March
