Youth killed by miscreants in bomb attack
Berhampur, Jan 29 : A youth was killed when unknown miscreants today hurled bombs at him in Gosaninuagon area here today. Police said one Shanti Mishra (31), a resident of Panigrahi Sahi under Gosaninuagaon police station, was killed in a bomb attack by some unidentified persons
A special team has been formed by the police to investigate into the incident and arrest the miscreants
The police suspected it to be a case of old enmity
Sources said Shanti was involved in several crimes and was out on bail. He was attacked with bombs and sharp weapons when he came to Gosaninuagaon police station to sign a document. He was attacked near a tea shop in front of the 'Gundicha temple' in Gosaninuagaon
Police said nearly 12 people came in one car and four motor cycles and attacked Shanti with bombs and bhujali
They threw a bomb on the head of Shanti Mishra who tried to escape from the attack and jumped into a nearby pond to save his life. The miscreants then hurled about 10 bombs at him
Later the police with the help of locals fished out his body from the pond and shifted him to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital where he was declared brought dead
