The enormous Selaulim Dam, which benefits irrigation and drinking water supply in the State, is likely to be developed as a tourist attraction as well with Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar wanting to explore it for water sports activity.

"Such a possibility can be explored after conducting a joint study with the officials from the Tourism Department, Water Resources Department and National Institute of Water Sports," the minister said responding to a starred question in the ongoing winter session of the legislative assembly today.

He said the feasibility report on the proposal for developing the place for this purpose will be completed before Nov 2013.
