Modi, Rajnath discuss 2014 polls
BJP president Rajnath Singh, who had earlier hinted that Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi may soon play a bigger role in national politics for the party, met the latter on Sunday here and discussed poll issues.
Modi reached New Delhi and met the newly elected BJP president Rajnath Singh for nearly two hours when the two reportedly discussed the 2014 general elections.
Both the leaders confirmed later that they discussed 2014 polls and state matters.
With Modi tipped to be a strong contender to emerge as BJP's prime ministerial candidate for the next year's polls despite objections from many NDA allies like Janata Dal (United), Rajnath Singh acknowledged his importance and earlier said none can deny the popularity of Modi now.
Modi has just won the Gujarat elections with a strong mandate to rule for another five years, his third consecutive term.
