Netaji's life is a story of sacrifice: President

President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday paid his respectful homage to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose saying that the freedom struggle hero's life 'is a story of sacrifice and service'.

He was speaking at a function in Netaji Research Bureau, Kolkata on the occasion of release of the Bengali translation of Dr. Sugata Bose's biography of Netaji, 'His Majesty's Opponent'.

Remembering Swami Vivekananda's tremendous influence on Netaji, the President described him as a real icon to the younger generation.

Netaji, while delivering a speech as Congress President, gave clarion call and laid foundation stone for liberated India, said Mukherjee.


The President praised the work done by the Netaji Research Bureau as 'simply fascinating' and 'tremendous work'.
