Gopal Gandhi to deliver Ajitda memorial lecture in Jaipur
Former West Bengal Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi will deliver the first Ajit Bhattacharjea Memorial lecture here on February 1.
An eminent speaker Mr Gandhi will speak on 'Neta Netritva and Netagiri' to address the issue of leadership in the post Independent India.
School for Democracy, spearheaded by Magsaysay awardee social activist and member National Advisory Council, Aruna Roy, will host the function in association with Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangthan(MKSS), RTI Manch, NCPRI and the Jan Hith Trust, an organisers spokesman said.
Bhattacharjea popularly known as 'Ajitda'( 1924-2011), was a renowned journalist, editor of two prominent national dailies, and also editor of Jaiprakash Narayan's Everyman's Weekly.
Director of the Press Institute for long years (1995-2004), Ajitda was a lifelong advocate of underprivileged Indian and an important proponent of the RTI.
