Punjab were 41 for no loss, in reply to Saurashtra's 477 for all out in 155 overs, in their first innings on the second day of the five-day Ranji semi-final cricket match played at the Saurashtra Cricket Association stadium, Khanderi, on the outskirts of the city, today.
Jiwanjot Singh was playing on 11 and R Inder Singh was batting on 30, when stumps were drawn at the end of play.
Earlier, Saurashtra resumed their innings at overnight score of 274 for five and folded the innings after posting 477 runs in which middle-order batsmen S P Jackson hit an impressive century (107) and Kamlesh Makwana struck half century (85) and added 106 runs for the sixth-wicket stand.
The other notable contribution came from Vishal Joshi, who remained not out on 55 (5x4s) off 136 balls. Jackson's innings of 107 studded with 16 fours and one six while facing 172 balls. Makwana hit 12 boundaries in his knock of 85 and faced 216 balls.
Punjab bowlers S Kaul and S Ladda claimed three wickets each by giving away 119 and 109 runs, respectively, while captain Harbhajan Singh snared two wickets for 102 runs.
