Kolkata college hosts seminar on Vivekanada
The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Vivekananda College, Thakurpukur near Kolkata Friday organised a national seminar on Indian Hindu monk Swami Vivekananda, to mark his 150th birth anniversary.
The national seminar was based on the subject, 'The pioneering Communicators of pre-independent Bengal', with the main thrust on Swami Vivekananda.
The seminar was inaugurated by the Principal of Vivekananda College, Thakurpukur Tapan Kumar Poddar.
Present on the occasion were Chief Public Relation Officer of Eastern Railway, Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) faculty Prof. Subir Ghosh, Belur Ramkrishna Mission Vidyamandir Prof. Subrato Roy along with professors and students of various universities and colleges.
On the occasion an e-journal, 'Sambad Pratidhwani' an initiative by the students of the Dept. of Journalism and Mass Communication of the college was also launched.
