People in Britain drink 78 million cups of tea every day, according to research.
More than half of the country relies on a traditional brew first thing in the morning, with just 35 per cent choosing coffee.
And it is not just the older generation who enjoy a cuppa and #65533; 51 per cent of those aged 18 to 24 prefer tea, the daily Express reported.
A third of those polled said it helps them unwind with almost half finding tea "comforting".
