City cop hit two golds at shooting championship

Sourav Mondal of Kolkata Police came with an outstanding performance when he won Gold both in Trap and Double Trap (Men) events at the 10th West Bengal Trap and Double Trap Shooting Championship, concluded at Midnapore Rifle Club recently.

He scored an impressive 22 out of 25 in Trap event while scored 19 out of 30 in Double Trap event.

In women section Raka Nilanjana Roy of Midnapore Rifle Club won both the Gold Medals.

Bappaditya Kali of Midnapore Rifle won Silver with a score of 17 while Shamik Dutta of South Calcutta Rifle Club won Bronze in Trap (men) event.

In Double Trap (men) event Shamik Dutta of South Calcutta Rifle Club won Silver with a score of 16 and Sanjay Adak of Midnapore Gun Club won Bronze. Sikha Mondal of Serampore Rifle Club won Silver in Double Trap (women) event.

In the team event section North Calcuta Rifle Club won Gold ending the domination of Midnapore Rifle Club in Trap (Men).

Midnapore Rifle Club won Silver and South Calcutta Rifle Club won Bronze.

In the 4th Eastern India Trap and Double Trap Shooting Championship again Sourav Mondal won Gold both in Trap and Double Trap (Men) events. Abinash Pattanayak of Odisha won silver in Trap (men) event. In women section Raka Nilanjana Roy of West Bengal won Gold while Suchismita Patra of Odisha won Silver. However Suchismita won gold and Raka Nilanjana Roy won Silver. In Team event West Bengal won Gold both in Trap and Double Trap Event.

In special Champion of Champions Trap event which was conducted with five top Trap Shooters, Shasank Sekher of Jharkhand emerged as champion hitting 8 targets out of 10 in single shot per single target match and Bappaditya Kali of West Bengal became the runner-up.
