Justice Amitava Roy assumes office as Chief Justice in Rajasthan
Justice Amitava Roy today assumed office as Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court.
Governor Margaret Alva administered oath of the office to Mr Justice Roy at a brief ceremony held at the Raj Bhawan here this morning.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, several of his ministerial colleagues and a number of dignitaries were present.
Born on March 1, 1953 in Dibrugarh, Mr Justice Roy had practiced law in Dibrugarh, Tinsukia and Guwahati since 1976 until his elevation as Judge in the Guwahati High Court in February 2002.
