27 killed in Kazakhstan plane crash
At least 27 people were killed on Tuesday when a military transport plane crashed in southern Kazakhstan.
"The plane has burnt up, only some of its fragments remain," RIA news agency quoted the head of the regional emergencies department as saying.
The plane had disappeared from radar screens at about 7 pm local time as it was descending near the city of Shymkent, the capital of the South Kazakhstan Region, Kazakh TV channel KTK said.
All 27 people killed were among those travelling in the aircraft that belonged to Kazakhstan's border troops and was bound for Shymkent from the capital Astana.
