NIA arrests Mecca blast suspect
The National Investigating Agency (NIA) has arrested a man who allegedly planted the bomb at Mecca Masjid in May 2007 that killed more than 16 people, media reports said Tuesday.
Twenty-five-year-old Tej Ram Parmar, believed to be a member of Abhinav Bharat, the outfit that is also believed to be responsible for the Samjhauta Express blast, was arrested from Ujjain in Uttar Pradesh.
Parmar, a resident of Harijan basti, Deeplapur, will be produced in the Panchkula Court.
He is the third person to be arrested from the Deepalpur tehsil who has been arrested by the NIA in connection with the case.
The NIA had earlier picked up Rajendra Chaudhary alias Dashrath alias Samunder and Kamal Chauhan in connection with Mecca Masjid blast and the 2007 Samjhauta Express train blast.
