US: Gunman kills two firefighters
A gunman shot dead two firefighters, who were on their way to put out a fire, at a small town called Webster, in New York, on Monday.
Quoting authorities, the New York Times said it was apparently a trap and a gunman was waiting to intercept the firefighters near the fire. A house and a car were on fire.
Before the firefighters could begin their job, four of them were hit by a volley of bullets. Two died.
The gunman, who had a long criminal record, was later found dead nearby. He had apparently shot himself.
