Nepal President to visit India
At the invitation of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee, President of Nepal Ram Baran Yadav will be paying an official visit to the country from Dec 24-29, said the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Monday.
During the visit Yadav would be attending the closing function on the 150th Anniversary celebration of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya at the Banaras Hindu University on Dec 25 and would receive an Honorary Doctorate from the University.
Yadav is expected to meet with the President on Dec 26 and hold discussions with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the same day.
Vice President Hamid Ansari and External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid would also be calling on the President of Nepal during his visit.
The visit is in line with the tradition of high-level political exchange between India and Nepal.
Yadav had earlier visited India on a State Visit in February 2010 and on an official visit in January/February 2011.
Pranab Mukherjee, as the then Finance Minister, had visited Nepal to sign the Revised Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement with Nepal in November 2011.
