INTUC National General Secretary and Leader of Opposition in Jharkhand Assembly Rajendra Prasad Singh today said the union activists will close the main gates of Damodar Valley Corporation plants located in Chandrapura and here protesting the alleged anti-employee policies of the corporation.
Addressing a news conference here, Mr Singh said the DVC was adopting anti-employee policy in providing compensation to the displaced and kin of deceased company employees therefore INTUC has decided to launch agitation against the corporation.
"The gates of both Bokaro Thermal Power Station and Chandrapura Thermal Power station will be closed from midnight today", Mr Singh said, that adding that supply of coal will also be blocked as part of the agitation.
"The agitation will continue till the DVC management comes to a fruitful solution", he added.
The DVC authorities, meanwhile, claimed that elaborate arrangements have been made to tackle the situation.
