LeT militant involved in sarpanch killing held

A militant of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT), allegedly involved in the killing of a sarpanch in north Kashmir district of Baramulla was arrested by security forces today.

A police spokesman said here that 29 Rashitriya Rifles (RR), 45 batallion CRPF and state police launched a joint operation at village Raipora Palhalan Pattan in Baramulla district following a tip-off about his presence.

During the operation, Mohammad Altaf Ganie alias Cheema, a resident local resident, belonging to Let was arrested.

He was involved in the killing of Sarpanch Ghulam Mohammad Yatoo, the spokesman said.

One AK 47 rifle, four magazines, 192 rounds of ammunition, one pistol, four rounds, one pouch, one wireless set and 32 numbers of IED circuit packs were recovered from his possession.
