Gerard Butler's new film role making him feel broody

Scottish actor Gerard Butler says portraying a children's football coach in new film Playing For Keeps has inspired him to have children of his own.

The 43-year-old, who's dating model Madalina Ghenea, 24, is ready to become a dad after forming a great bond with his adorable co-stars while shooting the sports-centric romantic comedy.

"I have a girlfriend, she's very nice and I would love to settle down at some point for sure," the Daily Express quoted him as telling ITV1.

"Doing a movie like this, you play a father and you hang out with these kids and they're awesome

"Doing a movie like this, you play a father and you hang out with these kids and they're awesome," he said, before admitting that he was tempted to keep his 10-year-old co-star.

"He was just a dream. I wanted to adopt him! I tried to buy Noah [Lomax] but his mum said he's not for sale.''
