Reporter riles up Rooney with 'balding' question
A British journalist's effort to make the audience smile at a charity event on Wednesday was met with uncomfortable silence, when he asked tips from Wayne Rooney to fix his receding hairline.
The Man U ace, who has had a hair transplant, glowered when 49-year-old BBC political editor Nick Robinson raised the subject in front of teammates Ryan Giggs and Michael Carrick, the Sun reported.
The venue fell into an awkward silence at Old Trafford's United For Unicef charity do, after Robinson asked the question.
"My scariest performance ever. Think I got away with it but not entirely sure," Robinson tweeted later.
One partygoer replied: "The look on Wayne's face answered your question."
But fundraiser Catherine Cottrell assured Robinson by writing, "You were very funny."
