PNB manager arrested in Laccfed scam in Uttar Pradesh
The Special Investigation Bureau (SIB) sleuths of the Co-operative Cell of Uttar Pradesh police today arrested a branch manager of Punjab National Bank (PNB) for facilitating the accused involved in multi-crore rupees scam in Labour and Construction Cooperative Federation (LACCFED) to withdraw money.
Sources confirmed of the SIB sleuths summoned the manager of Punjab National Bank (Lalbagh branch), Deepak Dave for questioning this morning. They grilled him regarding the payment alleged to be made illegally to the officials involved in LACCFED scam through bearer cheques.
When Dave failed to give convincing answer to the queries of the SIB they took him in custody and later showed him arrested in the LACCFED scam. SIB had already seized footage of Close Circuit Televisions (CCTVs) and other records of PNB to verify the involvement of LACCFED officials who visited the bank to receive payments.
Till now seven people have been arrested which also included former Labour minister Badshah Singh. The SIB also submitted charge-sheets against the accused to ensure that they should not come out on bail taking advantage of stipulated time of 90-days of filing the charge-sheet from the date of arrest.
The local court also took cognizance of the charge-sheets and so far denied bail to all the accused.
The SIB also dispatched letters to district magistrate of Lucknow, Kanpur, Barabanki, Sant Ravidas Nagar (Bhadohi) and Azamgarh requesting them to send a details of immovable and other properties of all the four accused which included Rangnath Mishra, Chandra Dev Ram,former chairman of LACCFED, Susheel Katiyar and it's Managing Director, B P Singh.
The move was made by SIB so that they could proceed further and seek property attachment orders of the accused who were absconding even after their arrest warrant has been already released by the court. The SIB even dispatched a letter to Regional Passport Officer of Lucknow asking him to cancel the passports of all above accused so that they could not slip out of the country.
They also ask him to inform the officials deployed at 'immigration check' at airports that they must ensure that the accused also not slip out of the country if they already completed the other paper formalities till now.
