Punjab to regularise unauthorised colonies
The Punjab government is considering to regularise unauthorised colonies in the state, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal told the Assembly today.
"For this purpose, a new for regularisation of unauthorised colonies is under consideration which will be formulated shortly," he said in a written reply in response to a question by Congress MLA Gurkeerat Singh.
After the formulation of the policy, the cases of regularisation of unauthorised colonies would be taken up accordingly.
When Leader of Opposition Sunil Jakhar asked him as to how long the government would take to come up a policy on this issue, Mr Badal said he could not give a timeframe as certain legal complications needed to be sorted out in this regard. However, the government would try to bring out the policy shortly, he added.
Health Minister Madan Mohan Mittal told the House that the government had simplified the procedure for taking financial assitance for the treatment of the cancer un der the Mukh Mantri Punjab cancer Rahaat Kosh Scheme.
The applicants would not have to seek the recommendation of the Civil Surgeon or Deputy Commissioner in this regard and they could now send their applications directly to the Health Directorate, he said.
