Vineet Dhaka, Rajat Sharma hit tons for Punjab

After skittling out Jammu and Kashmi for a paltry 99, Punjab hammered 361 for 5 in 92 overs before declaring their innings closed in the Under-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy at the PCA Stadium in Mohali today.

Punjab's run riot was led by Vineet Dhaka 148 off 155 balls inclusive of 22 boundaries and three huge sixes and Rajat Sharma 109 off 275 balls inclusive of 15 boundaries.

The two were associated in a 4th wicket stand off 234 runs off 319 balls. Punjab declared their innings one hour after lunch after gaining a lead of 262 runs on first innings.

For JKCA Husain 2 for 78 Ramandeep 1 for 27 and Shubham Singh 1 for 34 were the main wicket takers.

JKCA in reply were 102 for 2 in 36 overs at close of days play. Abhishant Bakshi 49 off 57 balls with 7 boundaries and one six was the highest scorer while Tushar Gupta got 14 off 36 balls with 2 boundaries. Shubham Singh 28 not out and Sahil Malhotra 6 not out were together at the end of days play. Ekjot Singh 1 for 9 and Resham 1 for 12 were the wicket takers for Punjab.
