BSE Sensex dips on caution
The BSE Sensex fell 0.38 percent on Monday, as investors grew cautious a day ahead of a policy review by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
The 30-share benchmark index ended 72.83 points lower at 19,244.42 with 14 of its components closing in the red.
The broader 50-share National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty index ended 0.37 percent or 21.70 points lower at 5,857.90 on Monday.
IT stocks declined on worries about the sector's outlook, along with non-banking financials on profit taking, even though interest-sensitive stocks gained on hopes of a rate cut by the RBI.
Meanwhile in the New Delhi bullion market, gold eased by Rs 5 to Rs 31,425 per 10 grams while silver improved by Rs 100 to Rs 60,700 per kg.
