Spice Girls could hold 'X Factor' style audition to replace Posh

Spice Girls are said to be considering a TV audition to replace Victoria Beckham, after the fashion designer told the all girls band that she did not want to join them for a reunion tour.

Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Mel Chisholm, and Mel Brown are keen to cash in on the re-birth of "Girl Power" - sparked by their Olympics appearance and new West End musical.

But footie ace David Beckham's wife is not keen to go back on the road, which leaves the others to make do as a four-piece or draft in a replacement - and one idea is to launch a TV talent search, the Daily Star reported.

"The girls know this is the last chance for them to get the band going again," the paper quoted a source as saying.

"But the Spice Girls as a foursome will not get another record deal or sell out big venues. They need an extra cherry on the cake," the source added.

Beckham's publicist said, "Victoria respects all the girls and will always support them all personally and professionally."
