Decembeaver urging women to stop bikini wax to raise funds for cancer charity
A group of comedians have launched Decembeaver - a female equivalent to Movember to raise funds for cancer charity.
A YouTube video titled 'Goodbye Movember, Hello Decembeaver' encourages women to stop shaving or waxing their pubic hair to help raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
"Every year, as men grow out their moustaches for Movember. Women are left out.. What can we not do? What can we stop doing?" the Mirror quoted one of the activists as saying in the clip.
Another activist said, "Let's look less like a 12-year-old girl down there and more like an 80-year-old woman... Take the ooch out of your cooch."
And while the men in the clip appear to be unenthusiastic about the campaign, the women said that anyone against Decembeaver isn't worth the time.
The YouTube video, written and directed by New York-based Sarah Cooper has attracted more than 300,000 hits since it was posted on November 29.
An accompanying website Decembeaver.com includes a link, so that supporters can make donations to the American Cancer Society.
