The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday lashed out at Pakistan, condemning its Interior Minister Rehman Malik's comment comparing the 26/11 terror strike on Mumbai with Babri mosque demolition.

The visiting minister invited a potential controversy by equating the Babri demolition incident with the Mumbai terror attack while speaking to reporters after the new visa agreement between India and Pakistan was operationalised last night here.

Reacting to the issue, BJP spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi alleged Pakistan of behaving dishonestly and dual talk on the core issue of terrorism.

"We can definitely say that various terrorist organizations are operating in Pakistan and producing militants, which is a big challenge not only for India, but for the world. So, whenever we talk about this core issue, Pakistan ignores it. There is no benefit of making policies, first our aim should be clear," said Naqvi.

Another senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament, Vinay Katiyar, also slammed Malik, saying: "They (Pakistan) are trying to distract our attention from the issue of terrorism. Pakistan and people from Pakistan are involved in terrorist attacks in India. Kasab is the latest example of this, so they can't run away from their responsibilities. Malik should go through the history that Babar demolished the temple built at the birthplace of God Ram in Ayodhya,"

"We all know that the law is doing its work and the Allahabad High Court has also upheld our belief that Ayodhya is the birthplace of God Ram. It is very unfortunate that Pakistan's Interior Minister is making such statements. He should first stop demolition of Hindu temples in Pakistan," added Katiyar.

However, Malik also mentioned that Pakistan will leave no stone unturned to punish those involved in Mumbai terror attack in November 2008 in which 166 people were killed.
