Musharraf's top aide joins ruling Pakistan Peoples Party
The senior vice-president of former military ruler General Pervez Musharraf's party- All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) - has joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
Dr Muhammad Amjad, a former federal minister, met Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at the PM's House and apprised him about his decision to join the PPP, reports the Daily Times.
Ashraf hailed Dr Amjad's decision to join the PPP as a testimony of the popularity and trust that the people have in the party leadership. Federal Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs Minister Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo and former parliamentarian Haji Nawaz Khokhar were also present on the occasion.
Dozens of Musharraf's aides, including Fawad Chaudhary, have quit the former president's party so far.
