Construction work of nursing college at Lok Nayak JP Hospital to begin soon: Sandhu
Construction work of nursing college, costing Rs 5 crore, would soon commence at Lok Nayak Jai Parkash Hospital in Kurukshetra, Haryana Principal Secretary (Heath Department) Navraj Sandhu said today.
All formalities of the project have been completed, she said.
Vacant posts of physicians in the hospital are also being filled up and other facilities would be added in the hospital for the benefit of patients, she added.
Ms Sandhu was addressing people at an inaugural function of Red Ribbon Express Train at Kurukshetra railway station.
She said Red Ribbon Express Train, after travelling through 22 states, has reached Haryana to create awareness and educate people about AIDS, a fatal disease.
As many as 25,000 people in the State were suffering from AIDS, she said, adding only 4,000 have come for their treatment.
She said under Indira Bal Swasthya Yojana of the state government, health check-up of school going children is being done and health cards are being issued.
Under this campaign, free treatment is being given to the children diagnosed with any disease.
She said the Health Department could only reach its target if common people join hands with the department.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Vijay Garg, Project Director of AIDS, said it was the third phase of Red Ribbon in which 162 to 149 stations have been covered.
On January 11, 2013, the Red Ribbon Train would complete its journey.
The first phase was between December 2007 and 2008 and second phase was between 2009 and 2010.
