AP ready to celebrate 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda
With rest of the country, Arunachal Pradesh is going to organise the 150th Birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda by celebrating a year-long programme throughout the state from January 12.
Informing this to reporters here today, president of the celebration committee, Nabam Atum called upon the people to be part of the grand celebration to make the year-long event a success.
"We should carry the message and ideas of Swamiji to various corners of the society. His revolutionary idea has ignited nationalism in Indians," he said, adding, the stage is being prepared for organising the celebrations in a grand manner.
The state government has assured all possible cooperation on its part, he informed.
During year-long programme, members of the committee will reach all parts of the state and awaken the masses through Swamiji's ideology, he further informed.
Earlier, highlighting various activities during its year-long programme through a power point presentation, the member of the state organizing committee informed that the theme of the celebrations has been divided - wake up Bharat, enlighten the world and social harmony.
Other members who spoke on the occasion including, director of higher and technical education and national celebration committee member, Joram Begi, deputy director of higher and technical education and sabha prant pramukh of Vivekananda Kendra, state unit, Dr T Padu, former chairman of Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission and member of the celebration committee, Rinchin Dorjee, director of IPR and publicity secretary of celebration committee, Lekhi Phungso.
