Free plastic surgery camps

The 37th five-day free plastic surgery camp, in memory of late Dr Sharadkumar Dicksheet, renowned plastic surgeon, will be held at the Mahatma Gandhi mission campus from December 13.

The camp is jointly organised by Lions club of Aurangabad Chikalthana , Mahatma Gandhi Mission (MGM), Medical research centre and Aurangabad Chemist and Druggists Association.

Addressing a press conference here today project chairman Lion Rashesham Agrawal said the camp is in memory of Dr Dicksheet, who had performed Three lakh free plastic surgeries in 40 cities of the country and 30,000 in Aurangabad during the last 35 years.

he passed away last year on November 15 in US, where he was settled since 1958.

This year renowned plastic surgeons Dr Raj Lala and Dr Vijay Moradiya, both Indians and now settled in America, will perform the surgeries with help of NGO's nurse Seema Vakadmane before paying obeisance at the Ghrishneshwar Temple in Ellora.

Mr Agrawal said patients can register their names on December 13 where the lion club doctors will check up the patients and later will decide on surgeoy the same day till December 17.

He expected 1000 patients to register their names and atleast 300 surgeries will be performed this year.

Aurangabad Chemist and Druggist association will provide all the medicines free of cost for the surgeries, he said.

Such free 2 day plastic surgery camps will also be held in Nanded and Ahmednagar on Decemebr 10 and 11 and December 18 and 19 respectively.
