Hundreds of activists from The All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF), Sikhs for Justice and families of victims of 1984 Sikh genocide will hold a protest march and stage dharna in front of the residence of Congress President Sonia Gandhi on December 10 (Human Rights Day), AISSF President Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad said today.

He said the activists will submit a memorandum to Sonia Gandhi, urging her to take action against Congress leaders Sajjan Kumar, Jagdish Tytler and Union Minister Kamal Nath who had been facing charges of abetting killings of Sikhs during anti-Sikh riots of November 1984.

He said the activists will first assemble at Gurdwara Rakabganj from where they will proceed to Jantar Mantar road and then march to the residence of the Congress President.

The activists, according to Mr Peer Mohammad, will carry out a candle light peace march giving tributes to Sikhs murdered in this genocide.

The memorandum, he said, will urge Ms Gandhi to expel these Congress leaders from the party and it is unfortunate that even after 28 years none of the Congress leaders though facing trials were punished despite the killing of hundreds of Sikhs.
