President of the Central Asian nation of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych is arriving here tomorrow on a state visit to India from December 9 to 12, the Ministry of External Affairs said.
President Yanukovych will hold delegation level talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday.
The same day, he will also meet President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice-President Hamid Ansari, Leader of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj and External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid.
Several agreements between the two countries were expected to be signed after delegation level talks between President Ynukovych and Prime Minister Singh.
The Ukranian President will also participate in several business events.He will attend a Business luncheon Meeting by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry in India (ASSOCHAM).
Besides New Delhi, he will also visit Bangalore and Agra.
India and Ukraine have multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries covering a wide range of other areas including defence, political, Science and Technology, nuclear, space, economic and trade and others.
The bilateral trade turnover has increased from 138.62 million dollars in 1992 to 2,865.45 million dollars in 2011-12.
India is expected to propose a visa simplification agreement with Ukraine during President Yanukovych's visit.
A restrictive visa regime in the central Asiabn region has been hampering business relations and tourists flow.
