Arunachal Pradesh Industries Minister Tapang Taloh has said organising fashion shows would create a new phase of developing in the field of handicrafts sector in the state where industries, textile and handicraft department is not so popular.
The minister was speaking as chief guest on the occasion of a fashion show held here late last evening. It was organised by Arunachal Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board (APKVIB), in collaboration with development commissioner (Handicraft) under Union Ministry of Textile sponsored Handicraft Accessories in association and expert support from North East Institute of Fashion Technology (NEIFT) Guwahati.
While, congratulating the work of APKVIB and Handicraft, the Industry Minister further said looking around the nation and worldwide this department is very important which creates employment.
The programme was organised with an objective to showcase the contemporary and traditionally rich textiles from all the states of North East region.
Among others the programme was attended by KVIB Chairman Taki Taba, vice-chairman B. Singh.
