Army service corps celebrated 252nd aniversary
Army Service Corps (ASC), the oldest service of the Indian Army, today celebrated its 252nd anniversary at headquarters Western Command in Chandimandir, near here.
Tributes were paid to gallant soldiers of Western Command and wreaths were laid at the Veer Smriti, the command war memorial.
Several functions, including social get-together for serving soldiers and veterans were organised to mark the occasion.
Lt Gen Sanjiv Chachra, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command extended his greeting to all ranks, civilian employees, their families and veterans of the Corps on this day. He appreciated the professionalism displayed by the personnel of Army Service Corps.
Over the years, the Corps has inherited glorious traditions of dedication, professional competence and selfless service. Through the ages it has provided unhindered and uninterrupted logistic support to the Indian Army.
