BJP burns UPA govt in effigy over FDI issue
The BJP today set afire the effigy of Congress-led UPA government at the Centre to protest against Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in retail sector.
Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party president Mayawati have saved the UPA government and proved that they were least bothered about the general public, former BJP state unit president Surya Pratap Sahi said while addressing the activists.
The BJP leader further termed the declaration of Rs 280 per quintal State Advisory Price (SAP) of sugarcane as inadequate and said the party would protest, if the price was not fixed at Rs 400 per quintal.
The agitators also burnt the central government in effigy and handed over a memorandum addressing to Governor to the district authorities.
