Moscow police rescues kidnapped Indian, 2 held
Moscow police has freed an Indian who had been kidnapped for ransom and arrested two suspects yesterday,a leading daily quoted the Interior Ministry as saying.
The suspects are believed to have kidnapped the man last August and held him in a basement garage, demanding via email 300,000 dollars from his relatives for his release, RIA Novosti reported today.
They threatened to kill the captive, whose identity has not been disclosed, if his family failed to pay the ransom.
The victim was offered medical care after being freed.
Investigators have opened a criminal case over the matter.
