Cheryl Cole postpones new single release for Girls Aloud reunion
Cheryl Cole has indefinitely postponed the release of her new track 'Screw You,' as she wants to focus on her all girl band Girls Aloud, which is set to release a Christmas single.
The 29-year-old singer, announced in September that the song 'Screw You,' a collaboration with Wretch 32, was to be her next single and even made a lyric video from footage sent in by fans.
"Cheryl originally planned for her solo material to coincide with the Girls Aloud promo schedule," the Mirror quoted a source as saying.
"That way, it was thought they would cross-advertise each other. Unfortunately, it just felt a bit confusing to have both going on at once.
"After the girls' single lost out to Olly Murs in the race for No.1 and Cheryl's single failed to reach the top 10, it was decided to focus all the attention on Girls Aloud for the time being," the source said.
The source added that the girls might reschedule it for some time in March, after the girls' tour, but there is no date set at the moment.
'Under The Sun,' Cole's second single from the album, peaked at No.13 in September and Girls Aloud's charity single, 'Something New' - their comeback after a three-year hiatus - could not fight off competition from Olly Murs to reach the top spot in November.
