About 20 vehicles stranded on Mughal road due to snow in Rajouri
About 20 vehicles were stranded on the world famous Mughal Road after fresh snowfall in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
"The road was closed due to heavy snowfall and the movement of vehicles from Srinagar to Rajouri, Poonch districts via Mughal road has been stopped," official sources here today said.
They said one feet snow was reported at 'Peer Ki Gali' adding, "about 20 vehicles on their way to Kashmir were struck up at Behram Gali while some of the vehicles were stranded from Peer Ki Gali to Chatta Pani." Sources further said plying of vehicles on Mughal road from Shopian side in Kashmir valley due to heavy snowfall have also not permitted.
"The road has been closed to avoid any untoward like incident," they said.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister recently travelled from Srinagar to Rajouri and Poonch to address a rally of Sarpanchs and Panchs ahead of Legislative Council Polls for four seats in Panchayat quota.
