Panaji police have recovered the stolen laptop of the director of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) Shankar Mohan and arrested a Kerala-based delegate for the offense.

Manydas K Venu, a resident of Punkunnam in Thrissur of Kerala, was found with the laptop at a guest house in Panaji.

Police inspector Rajendra Prabhudesai said that the delegate, who had come to Goa to attend the film festival, was arrested early on Monday.

"The arrest followed a tip-off by one of the security guards, who were being questioned in the case," he said.

The IFFI director's personal laptop was stolen from his office in the Old GMC Complex, situated in main premises of IFFI, on the intervening night of Nov 21 and 22.

Five private security guards were being interrogated.
