46 houses gutted in fire near Pahalgam
At least 46 houses were reportedly gutted in a massive fire that broke out early on Sunday morning in Pahalgam in Anantnag district.
Local media reports quoted Official sources, as saying that the fire broke out at around 2:30 a.m. in Frislan, a village on the outskirts of Pahalgam, and gutted 46 houses and a few cowsheds.
There is no report of any loss of human life, but about two dozen cattle have perished in the blaze.
Fifteen fire tenders were used to douse the fire at around six in the morning, the sources said.
The fire is said to have started from a house where a villager had stored charcoal for winter.
