Grow a moustache to fight off skin cancer

Researchers have found that moustaches and facial hair have benefits well beyond aesthetics, as they can reduce the risk of skin cancer.

Using dosimetric techniques - instruments that measure the skin and show the amount of radiation absorbed over a given period of time - scientists from the University of Southern Queensland discovered that people with facial hair had reduced their skin's exposure to the sun by about one-third, News.com.au reported.

The results of this study said that the longer the facial hair was, the better it was at protecting against skin cancer.
