IFFI director's laptop stolen

Goa police is interrogating two private security guards suspected to be involved in the theft of a laptop belonging to the director of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) Shankar Mohan, sources said.

The duo - Narayan Singh and Manas Kumar are being questioned by the Panjim police.

"The director had kept the laptop in his cabin which was locked from outside by one of the two security guards, soon after he wrapped up his work on Wednesday night. The next morning, he found it missing," police sub inspector Anant Gaonkar said reporters.

The burglary happened in the IFFI premise which is guarded by hundreds of armed policemen and paramilitary force. Only the IFFI card holders are allowed at the venue.

On the same night, photographer Ramesh Nair's cameras were stolen from his hotel room. He is deputed to cover the festival by a Mumbai-based organization.
