The Air Odisha is all set to launch its flight service from state capital Bhubaneswar to Jeypore air strip from December 3.
Announcing this at a conference here today, Air Odisha Chief Managing Director R K Pani said a nine-seater plane would fly from the state capital in the early hours from December 3 and reach Jeypore air strip by 0830 hrs.
The flight would return the same day.It would srart at 0900 hrs and reach Bhubaneswar at 1030 hrs.
The flight service would be available for six days a week and the fare would be Rs 7500 per person,he said.
Mr Pani said that the AIR Odisha would increase the seat numbers and its flight services to Raipur and Viskahpatanam, covering Jeypore air strip, in the future if the service was viable.
State Mass Education minister Rabi Narayan Nanda thanked the Air odisha for providing the new flight services to Jeypore and appealed the Air Odisha to review the travel fare.
Significantly, the Jeypore air strip was constructed in 1962 and a flight service from state capital to Jeypore via Viskahaptanam functioning for some months but later it was suspended because of non-viability.
Mr Nanda, also MLA from Jeypore, had met the civil aviation minister a few months back and demanded to resume the fight services to Jeypore taking the development aspects and it was considered promptly.
