New documentary claims serial killer murdered OJ Simpson's ex-wife
A new documentary has claimed that former footballer OJ Simpson's ex-wife Nicole Brown was killed by a serial killer and not by her star ex-husband.
Glen Rogers, who is on death row in Florida after being convicted of killing two women in 1995, has reportedly confessed to the brutal killings of Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman, reports the Daily Mail.
Investigation Discovery, an offshoot of the Discovery Channel, has reported that Rogers had befriended Nicole shortly after he moved to Los Angeles from Ohio. He is said to have bragged about partying with her and warning that she was rich and he was 'going to take her down'.
The documentary explains that the reason why Rogers' name has never come up before is because Simpson was purposefully keeping his connection to Rogers under wraps.
Rogers, who at one point boasted about having killed up to 70 women in a cross-country serial spree, alleged that OJ hired him to break into his ex-wife's home to steal a pair of 20,000-dollar earrings.
He said that while the original intention of the partnership was to get the earrings, OJ gave Rogers permission to kill her if necessary.
Ron's father, Fred Goldman, however, isn't ready to accept the new 'confession' and remains adamant that OJ killed his son.
"OJ Simpson murdered Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. The criminal trial showed overwhelming and monumental evidence that OJ Simpson was the killer. There was no contrary evidence other than guess, innuendo, and rumour," he said, adding that he believes Investigation Discovery is playing up Rogers' alleged confession to boost the ratings of the show.
The nine-month trial of millionaire OJ remains the most explosive court case in modern American history.
OJ, meanwhile, is serving 33 years in prison for a recent armed robbery in Las Vegas.
