Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today gave in principle approval to grant the status of Sub-tehsil to Sanour town in Patiala district.
A decision to this effect was taken by Mr Badal during a meeting with the incharge of Assembly constituency Sanour Tajinderpal Singh Sandhu at the Chief Minister's Residence in Chandigarh this evening.
Responding to the demands raised by Mr Sandhu, the Chief Minister asked the Financial Commissioner Revenue to complete the requisite formalities for declaring Sanour as Sub-tehsil at the earliest.
Mr Badal also asked the Principal Secretary Technical Education to set up skill development centre at Sanour to impart training to the youth to enable them to get suitably employed.
He also directed the Principal Secretary School Education to start vocational training courses in the 10+2 school in Sanour assembly constituency to impart vocational education to the students so that they could be gainfully employed.
