Murdoch apologizes for 'Jewish press provides anti-Israel coverage' tweet
Media tycoon Rupert Murdoch has apologized for an offensive tweet in which he had criticized the "Jewish-owned press" for providing "anti-Israel" coverage.
"'Jewish owned press' have been sternly criticised, suggesting link to Jewish reporters," Murdoch tweeted,
"Don't see this, but apologise unreservedly," the media mogul added.
According to Politico, Murdoch, who has offered a string of tweets supporting Israel in the wake of turmoil there, had slammed the "Jewish-owned" press's coverage of events in Israel and Gaza.
"Why Is Jewish owned press so consistently anti- Israel in every crisis?" he wrote on Saturday.
According to the report, it was not clear which "Jewish" media he was referencing.
