Delhi: One killed in building fire

At least one person was killed as a major fire broke out at Himalaya House in central New Delhi on Monday.

A security guard was killed in the fire, said police.

Two security guards, who were trapped in the building, have been rescued, fire officials said.

At least 38 fire engines are still fighting to douse the fire that was first noticed at around 6.20am.

According to reports, the fire broke out on the third floor and then spread to the fourth and fifth floors of the building.

The building, situated on Kasturba Gandhi Marg in Connaught Place, houses several offices.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
