International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) team, which was here to undertake safety review at the Rajasthan Atomic Power Station (RAPS), today held that certain aspects of plant's surveillance testing programme should be further enhanced.
The team, which has completed its review at the 3rd and 4th unit of the power station, also felt that the plant should also enhance route cause analysis to systematically identify all learning opportunities.
It also suggested to improve electrical cable condition and fire doors inspection programme.
The safety reviews started on October 29 by this operational safety review team (OSRAT) which comprised experts from Canada, Belgiom, Finland, Germany, Romania, Slowakia, Slovenia and Sweden.
OSART team has appraised Rawatbhata Atomic Power Station for using testing facilities to improve quality of maintenance work and reduce radiation doses.
The experts also hailed the power plant's awareness programme that is successfully providing educational opportunities to the local community about nuclear and radiation safety.
It was India's first safety review of any atomic power plant by International Atomic Energy Agency.
